Collagen Induction Therapy at Beauty & Bronze

Collagen Induction Therapy (or CIT) is a treatment that uses micro needles to puncture the upper layer of your skin creating micro channels for a skin plumping solution of hyaluronic acid to be readily absorbed. CIT uses the skin’s natural ability to repair itself by producing collagen when it suffers physical damage such as cuts, burns, abrasions or other injuries.

Immediately after an injury to the skin, our body begins the healing process, triggering new collagen to form. CIT creates very superficial “micro-injuries” to the outermost layer of the skin to induce the healing process that includes new collagen production. Micro-needling has been shown to reduce the visibility of acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles; diminish hyper-pigmentation; and improve skin tone and texture, resulting in smoother, firmer, younger looking skin.

Immediately following treatment you may experience redness with mild swelling and/or bruising, and it might feel tight and sensitive to the touch. Although these symptoms may take 1-2 days to resolve completely, they will diminish significantly within a few hours after treatment.

Although the risks associated with the treatment are extremely low, there is a chance that pigment changes may occur. If you experience any adverse reactions please contact us immediately.

We highly recommend reading through our FAQ’s and Pre & Post Care section to find out if this is the treatment for you. Alternatively, you can book in your FREE consultation here.

The risks associated with the treatment are extremely low, there is a chance that pigment changes, blistering, burns or infection may occur.

Each treatment is performed under sterile conditions with disposable single-use needle heads provided for every client.

Every client’s skin goals are different however generally these are general recommendations for treatment areas:

-Rejuvenation: 4-6 treatments, 4 weeks apart
-Acne scarring: 6 treatments, 6 weeks apart
-Stretch marks: 4-8 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart

For optimal results, treatments need to be followed up with a prescribed home care regimen set by your Skin Specialist.

This depends on the sensitivity and health of your skin. If you have skin on the sensitive side, redness and inflammation can last up to 24-48 hours after treatment.

Your skin will start to lightly shed after 24 hours and can last up to 4 days. We highly recommend booking your treatment at least 1 week before special events.

A light coverage of mineral makeup can be applied after your treatment however we prefer for you to wait 24 hours. Mineral makeup will need to be used or the first week then after this you may use your preferred makeup.
